Residents can help protect our sewer system by properly disposing of fats, oils, and grease (FOG). Instead of pouring cooking grease down the drain, allow it to cool, collect it in a sealed container, and bring it to Ironhouse Sanitary District for proper disposal. When grease enters sewer pipes, it can harden and cause blockages that may lead to sewer backups and overflows. By dropping off FOG at Ironhouse, residents help keep the sewer system running smoothly, protect public health, and prevent pollution in local waterways. This simple step makes a big difference for our community and environment.

Please do not dispose of anything but cooking grease at our disposal facility.
